We stopped at "Buck's" small motor repair. Public appearances go best when Pua is still sleepy.
Pretty Pua
Once she woke she she was on a mission. Looking for a pee place.
Nice garden
Don't think I want to pee here
Side garden
No bushes too pee in here
No room behind the rocks
Here's a nice secluded place...
... to pee I would have stopped her but she said go ahead and let her and she'd just hose it off. Animal people are nice. She was surprised by how much pee came out of Pua though.
By the front garden.
Sleepy Pua
Clinging to the seat
She wasn't sure this might not be another trick and be at someone's place again.
Going for a hike
This is more like it.
I love trees
Digging in a hallow tree
Sniffing and licking
Under a fallen tree
This hole was too small to fit
Till I made it big enough.
Barf!
I didn't mean to capture this. I didn't know it was coming. It's sort of a once in a lifetime sort of shot though.
She swallowed too much wood dust and got over heated. A dunk in the river and she was fine.
Some species like rats and horses are not capable of vomiting so a person might wonder if an anteater can or how they do it with that long snout and small mouth. Well, now you know.
She has a sensitive tummy when it comes to stuff. Though not a common occurrence, learned to mostly avoid the stuff, too much dirt, wood dust, fiber in her food, or even eating too many ants. Oh and pet hair used to do it as she was tonguey/mouthy when young and licked it up.
Ori's plenty tonguey but hasn't ever puked.
Oh and I was surprised at the volume. She hadn't drank anything. They don't have stomach acid but they sure must produce a lot of enzymatic juices.
After a dunk in the river
It didn't capture well due to the flash but her rump was really golden orangish.
Another rotten stump
Tiny mushroom
It was the size of a bb.
Nap time
Pua dug herself a sleep nest down inside the stump. She kinda looks like a dead thing but maybe that's the idea. Predators wont wanna eat that.
Dirty girl
After pulling her out of the stump she tried to climb grandma's leg to get to her carry bag. I let her in and carried her home.
Half done grooming
Mess left after grooming some of the wood dust out of her fur.
Aug 6th
(Pua's mommy)Took Ori for a walk at a little park. She didn't really relax till I let her climb on my head and then off again on her own. Then she was thrilled. She just needed to know her nanny was there to protect her. I kept my eyes shielded. I'm parnoid about that but her claws never got close to my face.
Doing the I don't wanna dance
Ori fighting the harness because she wanted back in the car. She wasn't sure about this whole walk thing.
Okay I'll check this out
Unfortunately we weren't in the park yet and that was someone's yard she wanted to go in.
Tamandua on boulder
Ori at the entrance to the park
She's not ready for in the woods but this park is unkempt so is fun to explore.
Climbing
She kept wanting to climb up my leg but figured the tree would be okay too
Coming down
Her butt looks caramel here but looks mocha in other lighting. Guess it's caramel mocha.
Happy run
I finally gave in and let Ori climb on my head. She felt safe after that so had fun.
She's practiced in the yard now she got to go to a park. Yeah that guy is asking me not to let my "dog" poop by his fence, only person we ran into, the park has homes around it. I said she's an anteater and just poops once a day so he didn't have to worry about that. Of course he needed me to repeat that and I pick her up and I'm saying how she only poops once a day so isn't going to and poop comes falling out of her butt, lol, thanks perfect timing.(They actually poop every other day on average).
Aug 8th oh boy a buggy apple. Yay, apple season
Aug 9th Ori came to visit by herself last night though she was just exploring and didn't really want my company or grooming. So I left her for my tower and defended it from her when she tried to come up.
Ori followed Aurora down to the closet floor then Aurora play attacked. ORi fled back up. She thought they were going to explore and didn't want to play there.
Ori came back and gave in to play for a bit but then ran off again. Aurora came by me and Ori ran over and hopped on for a ride. Aurora took it as a play attempt and went at her, lol. Ori is such a klutz she tripped on the food bowl and sent food flying but not the bowl and got it all over her legs and belly. Aurora and Ori are crazy hyper tonight

Ori Cinco as Tarzan
I can do this
Hey there
Pua was trying to get Aurora to play. Aurora was in the hammock.
Pua sleeping on the sink
So cute looks like she's wearing suspenders. The flowers have glitter on them.
Pua's harness broke and the store had no H harnesses. I was a fan of the H-harness but this is very snug around the arms don't think she'll slip out easy. We'll try it out on a walk soon.
Pua wants to play Pua wants to play with Aurora but Aurora just want s quiet nap in the hammock away from her crazy baby.
Pua explores
Trying to sleep in a hallow tree
Trying to sleep under a boulder
She took a pretty good walk and posed cute quite a bit but my camera battery was dead. I got stabbed in the back by a bee and she had to pose for a fan at the end of her walk. She is spoiled and doesn't like to stop outside.
Quasi and Jake got their check ups. On the ride to the vet Jake wanted to cuddle with Quasi for moral support. Quasi wasn't thrilled "Dude why are you in my face? You're gonna give me cat cooties" He was to tired to care on the ride home.
July 22nd I came and woke mom up at 4am. She gave me a treat but then I came back and clawed at her ear and insisted she get up. I didn't want to play. I followed her back to my castle and watched her change my blanket. Someone snuck in and wet my bed while I was sleeping. It was finally nice to day(70s) so mom took me for a walk but shr took me on a haunted trail. I heard all sorts of scary monsters but mom said she'd keep me safe and we kept going. I was just going to make her happy though. Then I heard a dragon and it tried to eat me. I darted up a tree but slipped and fell. Mom picked me up and I hugged tight to her shoulder till we got to the hallow log thing. I hid inside awhile till mom got me out. I hugged to her again holding her hair and shoulder in a death grip as we walked back. I still felt a little scared the dragon could just eat me and mom. So I got down and went to a big tree. I dig a hole and stuck my head in it and curled up. Grandma called me an ostrich but I know I was hidden perfectly well. So mom let me in my carry bag and I got to ride back out of site.
Mom's note: the trail is near the railroad and they were working on it. The dragon was a train going by. The rail road is like way up a ridge from us but was close enough to be noisy, not like we were walking along the tracks. You can't see it from the woods, just hear it.
Pua checks out a tree
She was mostly listening for monsters as we could hear the railroad being worked on.
Hiding in the tube
Looking for a place to hide
Ostrich anteater
She dug a hole, stuck her head in and curled up. No one can see her now.
Old turkey
July 23rd 1AM I was so hyper and running all over tonight. I even went a few houses down and said hi to the cub scout guy and his kids. Mom left the door ajar after getting my blanket out of the drier so Aurora went inside and checked it out. Hey now living in appliances is my thing. She left after she noticed mom was watching her.
Someone gave him catnip
He was given catnip and went out and rolled in burrs. We had to pull 100's of burrs from his fur. He came and slept it off on the "anteater" tree and played with the dangling mice. He liked the towel on the platform. I put that there in case of dropping bombs. Mom was giving Ori ants when Aurora came back. She walked right across her baby so Ori took that as play and fought back and they fell into a match.
July 23rd 10PM I guess I over did it yesterday with all my crazy running around. I didn't get up till 9:40 and I'm taking it easy.
July 24th 1AM Aurora keeps bringing Ori down to the cat tree then trying to get her to play there. Once play starts Ori runs off back up to the shelves. Mom stuck me on the cat tree. I checked it out then found my way up to the shelf and groomed Aurora's rear briefly then hurried off before Aurora could react. Grooming hit and run.
Pua thinks about visiting Aurora

Sniffing the old cat condo.

I'm out'a here
Sharing the shelf
Aurora curled up looking depressed after Pua ran off after the quick groom so I tried Putting Pua back but she ran off. So I put her up there with a treat but Aurora was to shy to approach her. Aurora went to visit Pua on the washer later.
Aurora seems to like it enough to keep coming back but she doesn't do any grooming back yet and still doesn't like Pua's play attempts.
Aurora under the cat tree
She kept bringing Ori down to play but Ori kept running off.
Checking out the hanging mouse

July24th 10pm OMG I'm SOOOO HYPER!!!!!
Pua at the park
Evening walk with Pua. She was so hyper we took her to the rest stop to run around for a bit. This actually made her more hyper. It was a long night. Face plant
Exploring
July 25th (Pua's mommy) Pua was up going wild for 5hrs straight last night took a nap and went for an hour more.
