Don't know what did it, bear, bobcat, elk in rut, big foot.

Pua might have sniffed what it was as she hurried through this area and when startled once did a barrel roll, threw claws out in threat, a short hiss, and regained her feet and kept running without skipping a beat, hurrying on.

She wants something every time I bring Aurora fresh food. So she has juice and tomatoes.

I told Pua over and over that going to see the baby was a bad idea and momma would claw her eyes out but she didn't listen. I played with her, gave her treats, let her sniff the window, claw a log, but she kept wanting to go.

I finally gave up & let her go. She approached via the window shelves. Aurora was on her like the momma ant-BEAR she is, growling and bellowing. Seeing Pua's pure shock & running for her life was hilarious. The only contact made was briefly when Aurora caught up enough to give Pua's tail a couple good pokes. Then Pua leaped to the safety of the hammock over the cage. I don't think she'll be doing that again any time soon.
